Reçu en juillet 2015 The Wet Glance at the lightening as it shatters the clouds Hear the thunder raging through the dark grey sky Listen to the rain drops bouncing on the roof See how they sparkle as they touch the ground Watch the crystal threads run down the window Smell the moisture from the rotting fallen leaves Then you know the wet has well landed As the day fades away, the wildlife is more alive Frogs invite you to their free concert Possums parade along the wooden beam Then leap from tree to tree in search of tucker The bush turkeys mess up your garden In search of earth worms beneath the ground They then perch themselves high up in trees And proudly “sing” the day out and the night in In a deafening sound unfriendly to our ears But still Darwin remains to us so dear ! © Marie-Bénédicte Harrison (Romana), April 2008 |
